ARTIST'S STATEMENT
When you first think of chrysalis the concept of a quiescent and preparatory state comes to mind. In this installation Maguire pushes the metaphor even further with her massive drawings of silent pod-like forms. They become sites of potential and transformation. All things are in a state of flux and in our fast paced world when change occurs in a blink of an eye we are reminded by these works that change on the most profound and startling levels can take place almost unnoticed and unseen.
